Stopped by Crystal Lake today, Thursday, February 6th 2020

I walked out a few feet by Crystal Marina on about an inch of window clear ice.
It started cracking so I didn't go too far out.

I did not see any open water.

If we get a few cold nights, it..... could happen?

I was hoping that the snow from the weekend had weighted down and turned to ice. they did just get a few more inches last night though.

4” of ice on Beulah beach area. Went out to 20’ of water and 1.5” of ice. Some spots close to shore have 6”. Not very safe unless you are trout fishing the shallows. 2 other guys are fishing close to the creek inlet . I saw one of their flags go up. Nothing for me.

Some ice on north side of Beulah bay is 3-4”. Harris rd area. Still not ideal. The wind is having it’s way with the ice currently.

17 here in birch run.... Got a giy omw to my house now who was on some sag bay ice yesterday and landed 3 eyes... Were gonna walk out to the edge of the ice and see what we can do... Since he offered to drive lol

Pretty windy today and got a report yesterday there was ice to RR point but open past that. Colder temps by the end of the week but warming again next week. I don't think Crystal is going to get 100% freeze this year. I hope I am wrong but it's the last week of Feb and not looking promising.

i'll be fishing in my perch grounds in the bay a mile from town. Last time I was up there was 3-4" should still be there . I wasn't the only guy out

Good luck if you get out, be safe, think I am going to get on some ice a little closer to home this weekend. Been working a bunch but hoping to get out one day this weekend. Spent a little time on my pond last weekend, only had 6" of white ice but was nice to drill a hole and see a few gills come through.

Yes I have got burbot in the bay 40’ deep . Also smelt, coho, Lakers, perch, pike. Let’s not forget about puppies!!! Lol. All these species I’ve got in 26-50’
