Who's been on the ice already ?

I live in Michigan and will not be on the ice for a while (hopefully in December), I'd love to hear from those in the Northern Regions who have already been lucky enough to get out on the ice.

Where are you from and how has the action been?

i walked yesterday but not enough to fish on yet stupid snow is really causing problems otherwise would have been out last week.

i walked on a tiny pond here in maine, bearly enough to walk on but, sure was cool to walk out a little ways! its also been below normal temps here and is supposed to remain for quite a while.i kinda feel bad for u guys in that warm weather!

Its been quite cold here to, the pond in my front yard is froze over and drove by one of my fishin spots today a long narrow cove,  its partly frozen

Hope this season is better than last. It was SOOOOOO weird to be fishing in an open boat JAN 5TH!! at Kinderhook lake in mid upstate NY. It was nearly 70 degrees. It was also sunny and windless. I was in just a reg long sleeve shirt and was feeling too warm at times! This is the same lake that as a boy I always counted on fishing on Christmas Eve (my own early little tradition) Every News Years I always walked over to my Uncles across the lake.
Seemed so silent,..no birds were making noise not even crows. I could see what seemed like a lot of activity on the sonar but try as I could I couldn't get ANY bites of anything.  Besides throwing all kinds of hardware , I tried powerbait and even worms. Not even the lightest bite deep or shallow. I think the fish were disturbed too. It FELT wrong too,..hard to explain.

It was in the 50's here this morning now it's 46 it's getting here just not soon enough sounds like i could be walking on water by turkey day i am praying that holds true..

I'm now checking the "accuweather" 15 day forecast on an hourly basis............I need help.

Anyway, low's in the teens (for Michigan) are forecast right after Thanksgiving.

made it out today for a couple hours, got 3 perch and 2 pike, was pretty cold so i didn't stay to long. felt good to see a flag go up.
