:D :D :D  Try this!! "Sweetie, where would you like to fish today?"  It's not only the guys that love
getting out on hard water; we ladies are catching on to the pleasure of fishing!! before we were married
we were more likely to go fishing than go to a movie.  And now that we are both retired, we fish almost every day.

I was tactful. Little by little figured out how to get her catching fish on the ice and staying warm. Now we are both in agony waiting for safe ice!

My wife actually went and bought herself some sorrels the other day....I asked her what they were for and she said so that she could go ice fishing with me.  :o

On the surface this sound ideallic. But we also have a daughter that I have hooked on fishing.  I have a two man portable and a nice heater.

Guess who's the one sitting outside on the ice with a five gallon bucket and a cold cup of coffee?  ???

There's no question whether I'm going fishing.  Noone has to LET me go and noone's gonna NOT LET me go.  :flex:
The only unknown is whether she's gonna LET me in when I get back home.  :o

Its always easier to work towards forgiveness than to beg for permission.

My wife has no interest in cold weather and very little interest in the great outdoors. I am lucky though. I never ask permission and she rarely, if ever gripes when I go. I think she understood from the very beginning who she was marrying and figures its not worth making it into an issue. She also knows that if she got in the way of my outdoor pursuits, it would not be a positive factor in our relationship. I have a very stressful main job and work a second job on the side so she also knows that I earn my time in the field.

Being in the great outdoors is not a matter of life or death. Its far more important than that!

Meaning no offense, I married my wife, not my mom so I don't comprehend the "permission/excuse" thing.

4 a.m., give her the elbow and ask if she wants to go fishing.  She almost never takes me up on the offer.  She will go from time to time if we have what I consider a late start--10 a.m. or so

The employment of effort, hard work, time, and energy put in locating fish will offend noone.

Yup, mine is pretty similar to this.  Then the times that she says no to fishing aren't really all that bad either.

My wife is my best friend, because she takes me fishing with her! Salmon, Steelhead, Bluegill on the beds, midnight Bass fishing, oh....and don't forget ROCK BASS fishing.
She's a stickler about leaving early too. If my friends are running late, they are left behind!
She has to try and be the first one on the ice so we can get "priority placement" of tip-ups, and she wants the shanty if we use one, set up before light so that our "area" quiets down for the early Crappie bite!
She rocks, and is a sure keeper!    :-* ;)

My wife loves to fish out of the boat, but she says that she wouldn't trust the ice if the lake was frozen all the way to the bottom. I have to respect that.

My wife will fish out of our boat in the summer, but she wont go out on the ice during the winter.
Since i work half a day on Sat and get Sundays off , i'll do what she needs to be done on Sat if possible and take Sunday for ice fishing IF she already hasnt got plans made. If and when we ever get ice again.
Since knowing she's not a mornin person and knowing that she already knows that i'm going fishing, i'll gently wake her at 4:30 or 5 am and ask - sex or fish?  Answer is always ( so far ) go fish and dress warm. ;)
