Not sure about Tiber. Reports show a handful of people have been to Georgetown already and in another thread it said Hyalite had good ice. Most of the other reports I have read say there is ice but if you are willing to fish on it is debatable.

Hopefully some others get on here and post about some safe (5+ inches) conditions because I am just itching to get out once I have some weekend availability.

Stay safe everyone
It doesn't sound that appealing to most people I talk to, but going out onto a frozen lake and staring into a hole for the day is my favorite thing to do.

I wouldn't bother with Tiber for quite some time. Needs to get COLD for a WHILE before that is fishable. Maybe Wadsworth?

It's not Montana, but if you are in SW Montana you may want to look at Henry's Lake in Idaho just across the state line from West Yellowstone.  I've been over there twice and plan to go a third time Sunday.  A one day pass is $15 and the fishing has been decent, well worth a crack at the 4-8 lbs. monsters they have there.  Solid 10+ inches as of Tuesday.  I live near Bozeman and it's about an hour and 45 minute drive.

No sure but on the Walleye Cams Canyon Ferry shot, it almost looks like CF capped over at Silos. Either that or it's dead calm but that's not common.

I am going to pretend I didn't hear this so I will continue to believe that I will be on the ice sooner  ;D

Stay safe everyone, don't do anything reckless. There is safe ice in some places in the state right now.

I've been up to delmoe a couple times this year and had alright luck, I've always had better luck after xmas. Going out again in the morning, anyone got some tips for early season up there? Also I've seen a lot of guys on the near banks(near the parking lot), why doesn't anyone fish the far side?
If you’re not on the edge, you’re just somewhere in the middle.

We have been going up the Yaak in NW Montana since the first week in December.  Several small lakes up there with Cutts, great early ice spot for us up here.  Nothing else around us with ice, sad start to the season.
