Hey all!

Stupid question. Anyone been out of the south end with a machine? I am sure the ice must be thick enough by now but I don't see where anyone has posted they had been out with atv yet.

Just curious. Thanks in advance!

I was just out with mine.  Measured 8.5 to 9.5.  24 fow.  Going out to trench tomorrow.  Should be around 10" everywhere by then.

I have another question for you guys.   I'm in town for 3 days staying at a hotel.  No where to fillet fish.  Should I just gut them and put them in a cooler with some snow or ice?

McDonald's bathrooms have nice sinks and counters for filleting fish.  ;D

All kidding aside, pack em in a bucket or cooler full of snow. They should be fine until you get home. What did you end up catching today?

Bite was slow.  Got into town and on the lake around 130.  Handful of dink perch.  Decent crappie, good perch....and my first walleye on this lake! ;D..only took me 3 years.  Little guy.  Went back in.

I'll be out there from dark to past dark tomorrow.  Ice will be 9 to 10" all over.  Went out on the atv for the first time.  Little bit of work but boy it beats walking.  Cover some ground tomorrow

Shot in the dark here but...I just got off honeoye and noticed the wind blew away my hut cover and the top to my bucket.  The cover is black and says cabelas and the bucket top is also black.  If it happened to fly into anyone please let me know.

Thanks all,

Joe

Seeings how the request I asked for was looked at as a report on the reports and conditions page does anyone here know if there is enough ice to take a sled up to the 20 fow range from the south end? Looking to head down Monday with some buddies

Hey everyone. I lost a jig box off the south launch today was green a little cracked and had mostly all raps and pimples in it. If anyone found it would appreciate if I could get it back.
Thanks

I measured anywhere from 6-10" of ice from Sandy bottom to California Ranch. There is a pressure crack running straight east from the ranch across the lake. Ice was no less than 6" up to the crack but it wasn't the greatest and I didn't feel comfortable crossing with the ATV. Watch out for soft spots.

Ditto on the South end. I didn't want to cross that crack on a machine. Everywhere else I drilled was 6-10 inches.

I wasn't too happy with the ice Tuesday afternoon just south of the crack around the burns point area on the east side. I measured only 6 1/2" there. Don't know what has happened since with the cold/warm/cold/snow we have had since.

Hello,

New to the forum, but have fished Honeyoe for a few years with decent success for perch and a few walleye, has anyone got on a good crappie bite there?

Thanks

I have caught a few more crappie there then perch or walleyes but still not good. Good for you on figuring out the eyes I guess they are hard on that lake.
