Hello all. Glad to be back at the Shanty!!! We had a thread on MHF if you didn't know. Seemed to be pretty popular there so we are gonna try it again here. We post pics and stories and we bust on each other pretty good. You guys are welcome to post and comment in fact we encourage it. Here's to a good Ice season. I guess my first disscussion can be this.... Anyone know where to get the Frabill adjustable wind poles for the flip shantys? Thanks for the help. Cheeks out!!!!

I know you guys can kill deer but lets see your ice fishing skills..

I hope you dont chase all of Hunts fish away with your wheeler...

I taught Hunt everything he knows about ice fishing so he should be in good shape for the season. As for the wheeler... gonna be a while before I'm scaring any fish away with that. Cheeks out!!! 8)

So is this like hunting where you set his stands and put him in good spots?? Will you be drilling his holes, setting up the shanty and setting his tip ups??

i dont know about you cheeks but i had a hard time finding the crappies last year at our spot. i had no trouble with the gills and perch what so ever. But i just could not find consistancy on the Crappies. how did you do with them last year?

Same here H.T. I was dissappointed with the Craps last season. Did ok with them on the open water there in the spring, but there wasn't any size to 'em. Let alot go free, maybe they grew up over the summer. I wonder if the water being low last year had anything to do with it? We won't have a low water problem this year.

your DA* right Crappies are trophy's in our book. great eating for sure thru the ice. getiing a limit of those thru the ice is like shooting a 150 class buck Walter

you are correct about the low water effecting the crappie bite i think. well the water level is up like you said for this season so we will see if that prediction is correct. we should hook up for a couple of evening trips for those elusive fish this season. 8)

i will be watching this post as well.i saw the one on the hunting forum and was overwhelmed when i saw all those pages,but now that i have read this one from the beginning i can look daily.i think your topic was just as popular as the kill count one!good luck this year guys.

i will get a hold of fishhead this week so he can keep us updated on the ice situation up there. he live 2 miles from our spot 8)

how come its huntny30 and cheeks13 thread on the mhf but cheeks13 and huntny30 on the shanty?? does that imply that hunt is better at the hunt and cheeks is better at the fish? ha enjoyed the hunt thread this should b interesting as well. giv me a shout when u guys hit the pond i live 3 min from it.
