hopefully not on delta ranger, sence it was just yesterday you were telling everyone to stay away from there because its not safe, so you might wanna listen to your own ice reports

Yup I was on Delta...I wasn't going to fish it only check the ice to give a report but to my surprise there was about 6". So I figured why not try it seeing I had my gear in the truck. After I set up I was joined by two other fishermen. I went almost all the way across the lake out by the beach. I fished in 30 fow with 5"-6" of ice and ventured to 50fow with 5" on it. Brought home some slob perch whic are defrosting in the sink.

I was on the Rome side. If you go out there please bring your safety gear. I did notice a pressure crack that broke loose while I was in my shanty. Use caution and your spud bar. Be safe.

Hey Guys,
I was out on delta by the time your posts were on here there was 4 and a half inches of good ice and me and my buddy had no troubles or worries. we went agian this monday plenty of guys out on good old delta. along with wheelers and i saw an ice house. we had a solid 6 to 8 inches everywhere. it was cold and the fish werent that hot but we got some decent perch and pike. the bigeyes are still eluding us tho. delta is one of my primary lakes il keep you posted.

there is a new bait shop in the delta plaza called out on on a limb

The ad I saved from last year has the shop named "Outdoor Connections"...same place? Anyone know their hours, and what they have in minnows?

ya there is usually the channel is thin and there are a few spots where natural springs keep the water movin witch makes for thin ice early on as well as good fishing. but theres plenty of ice now like i said i saw ice houses out as well as wheelers.

A little late but here you go. Still safe as of 10pm last night with 7". When I left the ice there was a lot of water on the ice but it was good sill. Some spots looked sketchy but it was just black ice.

Buddy of mine caught 2 small tigers out of delta last summer.  He asked the DEC about it and they said they must have gotten there by mistake, sometimes the fry gets into the wrong tank truck.  sounds like BS to me.

Last I knew there wasnt a hatchery that they produced Walleye/Tiger Musky together in the same facility at least I dont think they do in constantia, and I believe that the hatchery that stocks Delta, But im not positive... There also isnt any listing of Tiger Musky being stocked in Delta on the DEC website.. Only Walleye stocked 5.2million 1/2 inch fry..

Maybe he is confusing a small Pikerel for a small Tiger or maybe there was some natural cross breading between a Pike and a Pickerel if thats at all possible..
With that said, Ive seen people on many occasions confuse Pickerel/Pike/Musky and Tigers... I have also seen many photos of Northerns with some strange abnormal markings.. Be great if he had some photos to share of them on a recognizable area of Delta...
