Late afternoon fishing

I was able to get out this afternoon to fish and caught four fish. I got a later start getting out to the lake than I wanted, so couldn’t make it out to the spot I wanted to fish. Headed out from the boat ramp and stopped along a bit of shoreline and set up 6 tip ups.
Targeting anything that swims.


17 inch Pickerel





White perch that I kept



2 yellow perch easily in the 4 inch range

The white perch tasted good, I need to figure out the jigging approach.





I’m thinking they would make great fish tacos or fish po boys.

Way to get after it! Whites are among my favorite eating fish. No wrong way to eat em, the racks left after filleting make incredible fish stock for chowder.

I was able to get out again today to the same place only a few hours earlier in the day. Yesterday 3-5pm and today 1-4 pm.
Total of 5 flags with two landed, 6 and 10 inch yellow perch both released
