Couldn't keep the walleye off the hook yesterday from 11-3 just across from the ski hill at Mission.  Caught 20+, a couple whitefish and two perch.  Lots of smaller ones but did keep our limit.  Fish on the camera pretty much nonstop for the 4 hours.

Got to Lutherland today, was in ten ft around some other shacks. Didn't get to pull any out. Had some pike take the hook and immediatly spit it out. All one can do is laugh. Most times they just weren't interested, same with the walleye, just window shopping. Love the camera.  Deeper pro+ does only last a bit over four hrs, nice bit of kit though.

How's the winter been on these lakes   not much talking or bragging going on .?. I have had pretty good success with the walleye  perch were plentiful a while ago now nothing need to find more perch down to last 2 eyeballs which the walleye seem to like especially  with a long optical cord trailing on it  let's hear from u all

Boo Hoo!
I’m crushed in that when packing up at Lutherland about a month ago a white fishing rod with a black reel was accidentally left behind. I have about a dozen but this one is special to me and has sentimental value. If by chance you or someone you know came across it I’d be very appreciative in getting it back. Please message me so one of my originals can return home.

Is this a good access point to drive onto Katepwa? Thanks!

Thanks treeplucker!  Do you know if there are tracks going from the boat launch (highlighted on our map) to the other point on the map?

Thanks treeplucker!

Is it still possible to drive with a 4x4 truck on Katepwa or is there too much snow?

I'm considering a couple different access points that are closer to our sampling spot so we don't have to drive as far (see attached picture).  One of them (50.69624, -103.64472) is on the other side of the lake like you suggested and is about 600m away.  The other one (50.69467, -103.63086) I've used before in the summer and it is only 400m away.  Since this one's closer we might try it if it's accessible in the winter...

The 2 circled sights are bad the one on park side is big rough rocks as of year and half ago, other one is usually drifted in as fact northish. Hope this helps

Thanks treeplucker!

Last question (I hope)... what if we drive out to the end of Lakeview Crescent on the west side of the lake?  Even if we can't drive onto the ice here due to drifts it's only about 320m to our sampling point so then we'd probably just walk.

I guess we could still drive onto the lake at the provincial park boat launch but I'm a bit nervous about getting stuck in the snow if we have to drive for about 1 km... we have a 4x4 truck but it can still get stuck :) Planning to go out here this Saturday.

Thanks again!

Anyone been to Lutherland lately? just curious if the boat launch is accessible or blown in and what sort of driving conditions exist on the lake in that area. I am thinking of heading there one day this weekend. Thanks all.

Was at Lutherland this aft, not another soul around. Guess they're smarter than us, no fish caught. Twenty one ft, had some curious perch, couple small eyes, tulibee and one sucker in the water, added to two in the shack. Still better than working by a long way. Easy entryon to the ice, good travel conditions once on.  Guesstimate over 30 inches of ice.

Thanks Metalbender. Hopefully the temp swing on the way will turn things up. If your out there this weekend look for the white ram 1500.

Go past ski hill and take first left. Take road past last house and it curves onto lake.

Lutherland, textbook spot, off the point, deeper water all around,  fishing 16 ft, catching zero fish.  Guess the fish didn't school up and read the book. Saw a few jack, tulibee and suckers. Had a jack steal a minnow once. Just enough on the screen to keep the interest.

For,t San yesterday, 2 of us caught around 20 eyes, only 1 keeper, 3 perch, 1 pike and a tulibee. Had a pike grab my walleye just below the hole! Was a nice day to get out! @)
