Anyone know if the edges of Candlewood are safe to get on? Looking to get out tomorrow and have around a  2 hour drive. Any info is greatly appreciated!

I was on Candelwood on Sunday February 4th. Does anyone know how the edges made out with
the recent rain. Had plenty of ice last week so I would like to get out there again. Thanks in advance
for any information.

Scouted a spot on the northern part of the lake today, rain looked like it leaked through casually and froze on it's way into the ice sheet, gonna be there saturday. I'm a newbie on candlewood, had bad experiences in the past, but looking to change my luck. Didn't drill, but felt real good, I know the lake freezes funny, so I can't account for all 5,000 acres, be safe, but it didn't look like a big draindown/upheaval of the ice.
A smart person would watch the few that ventured to the ice sheet, the daring would follow in their boot prints, but the pioneers would already be heading to where they belong.

Thanks for the update androx. I hope to be out
there tomorrow too. I had 9" - 10" last Saturday
February 4th. The edge is the concern. Glad
it didn't get to beat up. I'll be up in the northen
end of the lake. Good luck to all.

Any news on ice conditions after this weekend? Thinking of making the hour drive up tomorrow to give it a shot.

Going to try getting on at NF town park tomorrow, seemed to be the best option after looking around here this morning.
