Has anyone been on Hickory with the rain this week ? Thing of going out to day.

What up Slick Ice, not a lot of action at HG this weekend, how did you fair with the kids out there.

Fished Hickory Grove on the 13th and 14th.  Did well limit of gills 13th, 14 nice keepers 14th.  Great bite 4:00 p.m. to about 6:00.  Fewer fish yesterday prolly due to clouds and weather.  Using just a blue glow tear drop and waxie.  15 ft of water.

Is there a fishing tournament on Hickory coming up in the near future? If any one has info please pass along thanks in advance.

saturday from 8am-1pm. 

check in and weigh-in is at the big lodge in the center of the lake (north side)

They are calling for rain that day...hoping it will be sleet or snow!  who knows with the weather these days.

One thing is for sure, the tournament will be a tough one...anyone could win!!!

What:  Two person ice fishing tournament
Where: Hickory Grove Park at Oriole Ridge Lodge
When: Saturday, January 23, 2010. Registration starts at 7:30am
Why: To raise money for the ISU Fishing Club

 

Details:

$30 entry for a two person team($15 per person)
Registration begins at 7:30am at the lodge, fish from 8am to 1pm
Weigh-in top 6 panfish
Optional big fish (any species) prize with an extra $5 entry fee per team.  100% payout for big fish
Food and drinks will be provided for a small fee
Top three places will receive cash prize based on total entry
Fees: 1st  place-30%
2nd place-20%
3rd place-15%
