That's 11 of the past 12 years children, the first day anyone has stood on ice in PA.  That's a bit of data.  Average out all those first days on the ice, what do you get??? Five starts in November, Five in December, and that one filthy January...

We got a Hurricane coming, we've already been in the thirties this year.

Just wanted to make sure and remind everyone, ice season starts before Christmas, it may start before Thanksgiving, and since there are countdown clocks for X-mas all around us, we might as well count down the days to first ice.

Be back next month. AND DON'T BE A PESSIMIST.  Pessimists need not post.......

MO, you out there, keep em in line buddy...

I've been ready since the last time I left the ice at the beginning of the year...
To catch them all…you gotta catch them small

I have a feeling RuttNutt is going to utilize the boat again to get out even earlier.  I might have to join him and give it a try.

the forecast for the second half of November shows a promising trend. Thanksgiving is definitely possible and if not then at least early December.

You have to use a site other than Photobucket, unless you want to pay the $300 or $400 that they're charging to use their site.

yep, and I forgot my creepers and went flying through the air with the greatest of ease! Landed on my back and thought I was going in but the ice was thick enough. :o  But it wasn't all good ice. I was a bit skittish in that one area by the spillway. I don't like being in too much of a hurry getting onto early ice. I was on 3" at promised land just before that and the ice was ugly and complained with every step. On early ice, your spud can be a life saver!

LOL! I had forgotten about that, SPider! But I have to say................... ....you really stuck the landing!  ;)

Yeah, I don't like anything less than 4" to walk on, so that's why I experimented last year in March. You guys laugh when you see that little johnboat of mine, but wait til you see it working on early ice this year!  ;D

I'll never forget it. I remember my flasher flying up into the air and watched in sloooow motion as it bounced across the ice!  :o  That old bird has taken a beating but it keeps hummin along!
