Tongue
« on: Jan 17, 2013, 08:10 PM »
Going to Tongue this weekend and have never fished it before, any pointers on where would be a good place to start?  I have heard by the inlet does ok? Looking for mostly eyes and crappies.  Any help on where to fish or fow would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

I went last week, caught 15 perch. in 23ft of water. using a small spoon and minnow head. Saw a couple walleye and one bass. Was slow, mainly because of the big storm that came. Rattlesnake point. I would stay in 20ft of water where ever you go on the lake and fish just of point edges. Best times 6:00am - 8:00am and 4:00pm - 8:00pm

not too bad if you can get a dozen or so, I heard that the crappies might be closer to the inlet to the lake.

Does anyone know what the price is on minnows thru the vending machine?
Thick Ice, Tight Lines, and plenty of fish on the ice.

Minnows are 5$/dozen.  I talked to some guys that were catching crappie and perch somewhere near the marina, they didn't give specifics.

We bought minnows out of the vending machine Wed. morning, that afternoon it was empty and still empty Friday pm. You might want to call BCNU Bait and Tackle in Sherdian to see it they are out of small  minnows or just did not get it restocked. Good luck.

Only minnows that I and half dozen other people saw were bigger minnows, not the smaller 1 inch.

We bought 4 dozen and there were probably 6 dozen or so left in the machine.  Not sure what minnows your looking for but the ones we got had a mix of 1" to say the biggest being 3".  I didn't know you could specifically buy a dozen 1" minnows from the machine.
