Crack/Vrain
« on: Jan 08, 2018, 09:21 AM »
Fished the Crack on Sunday from 630-12pm 4" hard ice everywhere, East boat ramp was the spot and Tower. A lot of Slimers, couple of them were  over 15"and two under 10" Also 5 Crappies 10" Very tuff bite with out a Strike indicator.

Also Fished St. Vrain again with the kids. Ice was 4" BUT the Edges were 1" Very unsafe with out a spud Bar to Get onto the lake. Kids caught well over 20 Stockers. I ended up hunting for Bluegills while the kids played with the slimers, Caught well over 20 gills(school) of 3-5" gill that made my night a little more exciting since I was tired of catching slimers..

If I took my kids on the Front Range ice right now, I'd be sleeping on the couch for a long time.

We were at Senac Cove Saturday Bud and ice was solid at 4.5 in.  Absent were the perch though, slimers were fat.

Nice job, Shu!  Glad you got some!

Seems like I won't be able to fish the Crack this ice season.  I've been trying to find a time to hit it at sundown, while it still has ok ice, but it just hasn't happened.  Unless we get another real cold snap, I'm giving up on that idea.
Flags up, gentlemen!!!
