Houghton pike deformity ?
« on: Jan 09, 2023, 02:03 AM »
Caught this hammer handle on a tipup on Saturday morning at Lake Houghton & noticed the same jaw deformity that was present on the same size female caught a week earlier. I thought the first one might have been from a juvenile injury , but 2 ?  Fish are both 21"
Anybody else hooked 1 ?

I'm leaning to juvenile injuries. I've also caught bass/pike that have had similar lower jaw abnormalities some with upper "cleft" lip issue from what I can only assume someone just ripping hooks out.
I have a BS in Narrative Fishing History.
