Thanks You all! Well wyohunter and I gave it a shot for a couple of days. Fishing is getting sloooooow, or the cold front might have had something to do with it. Here is a couple pictures from our trip. Thanks for making the trip wyohunter. Here is a Wally we caught.
Here is a 13" Crappie I caught. I love big Crappie, almost more than big eyes.

Had ourselves a little fish fry a couple of nights ago. Momma Wyo Ice even said they were good and maybe I should try to get somemore of those fish...

LT, I remember seeing a picture of a Crappie you caught on a stringer, that would eat the one I caught. Can you post that pic again? That was a Toad.
Mooter you are the real Legend.
warrior1, I am concerned, I believe we have a problem. There does not seem to be enough of the 13"-21" class eyes. There are many problems that contribute to it. Now I am going by word of mouth here. I heard they stock fry (Walleye/Northerns) in the Lake that are to small, about 1" in size. I think the Crappie eat them up as soon as they stock them. They should be at least fingerling size. maybe a few would survive.
If you were to look back we started having a shortage of Walleyes and Northerns soon after the introduction of the Crappies. Now I like the Crappies, Great panfish, but ever since they introduced them into the Lake it has changed.
Also years ago the fisherman I talked to wanted a slot limit, release every thing under 15" and keep only 3 or 4 fish for 15" to 21" and one over 26". To many small fish were being kept, and now what we have is a large class of fish. Why we don't have more large Northerns I don't know!
I think with larger fry, and returning smaller fish maybe in time it can be restored.
Thanks BottomDweller It sounds like the weather is not cooperating for you guys. Looks like LT might loose his hair. TGF has a pretty nice Laker entry!
Thanks Fishlord, er-e-is and Tumbleweed, TW the eye was about 28"
Wyoming_Ice We did have some cold snowy weather, I think it made for some slow fishing. There is nothing like fresh fish filet's. We all could use some colder weather or it's going to be a short winter on the ice.

You talk'n bout this little fella. Even I get lucky on occasion. The wally's sure have been giving me the slip this winter :embarassed:
That crappie above him was actually a nice fish. The big one is at the fish stuffers. Should be a good mount.

Steve, great fish. Looks like things have been going well for you! Another round of goose pounding is done for me, going to get the ice gear out again. Any idea how the warm temps and nasty winds have treated the ice? ATV is not going on any lakes around here soon, that I know. Hope you keep on smacking them!

LT, I hope your prediction holds true, because the fish have a serious case of lock jaw now! I think they heard that we are going to have a new President soon
RR, The honey hole is just a hole now! Traxion, so far the ice is holding it's own, thank God for that cold Month of December we had.
Thanks Guys, It's better to be lucky than good! Last winter I caught a good eye 2 days after the tourney ended. This winter I have had some good fortune early. But what allot of people don't know is I fished 6 days of my last seven off. That's allot of time with your line down the hole. That's not counting the five days I fished before that.
Fishing Report: I fished eight different spots the other day, not only did I not catch a fish. I never graphed a fish. not even a Crappie!
I should also add I had a couple good fisherman with me that had the same luck. We drilled a bunch of holes.
Now the good news
I bought two new fly rods, 4 pcs pack rods, tubes and reels/ line. My brain has been in the backpack mind set all winter. If you can believe that. I am looking forward to making a trip or two to the Winds. LT are you ready.
