I just might have to take you up on that one! Don, Have you ever gone all the way to Mae's or Pyramid Lakes and fished?, on that same trail.

Big Ice,
Glad to read your post about the amount of time it took you to bag that trophy.  it's easy to assume that you just drop your bait down a hole and a monster takes it, much like the fishing shows that catch numerous large fish in 30 minutes!!  Just goes to show you that these fish are truly rare!! and that they are still out there...
Also gives me hope that the countless hours I've spent looking down a small hole in the ice will someday be rewarded ;D
I'm new to this forum but I find it fun and informative.  Keep up the good work.
No jet skiers, no bugs...how can you not like ice fishing??

Thanks Guys, RR not catching many fish this year myself. Just lately I fish 3 days sun up to sun down a couple of bites. It really is a tough year. I have been fortunate to catch some quality fish. I had one of my sons and his friend come fish with me this weekend three of jigging all day with max tipups one fish first thing in the am 19" nothing the rest of the day.

I like that BD :) Thanks everyone for all the kind words and praise. Like I have said before there is really nothing special about my fishing skills. It just takes a few things in my mind to be successful. Location, presentation, persistence, and some good luck.  I worship and thank God every day of my life.

Hey Steve.  You stopped and talked with me on a point a couple west of Rabbit Ears last year the Friday night before the Keyhole Derby and you work with my dad.  Shoot me an e-mail and maybe we can combine knowledge and track down the eyes for late ice this year.  As tough as it has been, it may take a team effort.

Big Ice,

When was the last time you were out.  Was out Sunday, even with the warm weather it seems like the ice is getting even thicker.  Saw you moved your permanent.  Definately still keyhole out there though.

I haven't been out for a few weeks now. I moved my house off because the fishing was so slow. I went skiing and got hooked, great snow at Terry this winter.  Been tying flies. I think the fishing should start pickup some. Good to hear that about the ice. I was hoping to make it out Sat. KH has always been a challenge to winter fish. I will PM you.

Finally made it out this afternoon after a 3 week break, beautiful afternoon. Tried to get hooked up with eve21, I couldn't make Sat. and he couldn't make today. I had only a couple of bites. I did get lucky and caught this fish.
