Pleasant Creek - Walleyes
« on: Feb 01, 2021, 09:20 PM »
I am looking to try Pleasant Creek in Palo for walleyes this Friday evening into the night time, but wanted to see if anyone had recommendations on locations to try as it will be my first time trying it there. Alternatively, if anyone has recommendation on the evening walleye bite around cedar rapids I'd be open to trying somewhere else if recommended.

Thanks!

I'm not sure why, but you dont get alot of response on this site. I dont know if its because people just dont know these areas or they're just tight lipped ?

Ive been out there a few times this year and ran into some bluegill and crappie.  I saw a guy hit on a tip up with a walleye around dusk the last time I was up there a couple weeks ago.  He was out near the submerged "island" structure in about 20 ft of water.  Lake Macbride has some walleye in it but that lake is a mystery to me.  I am committed to learning it but for now it is completely random to me.  Sometimes I run into walleye, next time go looking for walleye and either nothing or its just bass all day.

As far as why so few replies, I think most people (sadly) spend all their time on Facebook.  I have not targeted walleyes at Palo but have caught a few in front of the dam which I know isn't very helpful.  Try calling Palo Outdoors (sorry probably too late) as they are always helpful with some suggestions.

Yeah, that is sad. I think I'll stick to Walleye Central  !!!
