What does everyone chum with I've heard of everything from salmon eggs to rice?? ???

they might work well in red a lot of the whitfish I have caught have had
 small red worms in them larva of some kind thanks for the tip

I was told by the MNR they were chromimid larva :o

Boil shad until it flakes appart them mix in rice, when the rice is cooked mix in oatmeal to thicken the SOUP up.  Don't store in the house, it will stink.  We put about 5 gallons of this down when we first put out the shack, leave it for 2 or 3 days, then we just use plain rice ,no more than a cup full before you start fishing, then 2 or 3 cups at the end of the day to keep the fish around.

I usually chum with the boil king spawn that i use for bait if you are in and area that has alot of small splake dont use and kind of skein for chum
