Somebody puuuuulllleeeeezzzze  ;D  post some ice conditions for Box Butte.  I am itching to go 1 more time but don't want to travel 150 miles to end up getting wet.   :-\   Thanks.

I was out there last Thursday, still plenty of ice, the edges were alittle soft though.  Been pretty cold and windy since, I'd say you're definitely fine.  I'd drive out and check for ya, but I live further away than you.
 ;D

with all this these cold temps we are having, ice even on the edges will
be fine. We went to Smith last Saturday and it was all in fine shape.

Well with cold weather the edges are way soft. Was their Monday and Tuesday. Hunters point is soft and one guy I was with fell through up to his hip. Fished right in front of boat dock and edges were really soft and i broke through up to my knees. Couldn't venture to far with all the snow on ice so we inched our way out and shoveled a path and good 15" but both white and clear ice. Only us on the ice both days so be carefull and hope this helps you out guys. Ice conditions can rapidly change in a day and some help is better than none. I would take a plank if I was to go again knowing the shore is bad

Was up to Box Butte yesterday, didn't fish however there was one hut south of the boat dock and they had a atv with them on the ice edges were good, Went up there today fishing same area, edges were fine and ice 15" to 18" with 6" snow on top of it. Caught a 5# walleye, for decent perch and several 12" pike. Not bad for being cold. Couple three huts at hunters point too.  Should of fished yesterday too, oh well.
