Heading to Birch

Well I'm going to try Birch again this weekend after getting skunked last week.  Got a hut rented for Saturday.  It looks on the map like they've moved the huts, so hopefully someone is in there before me as I only have a hand auger.    I knew I shoulda asked Santa for something...

If anyone has suggestions on what they might be biting on or what tackle to use I'm new to this so open to any and all suggestions.

Small forage minnow with a bit of raw shrimp on the hook, at times the char bite very light so one must pay attention, good luck.

I've also had luck with raw shrimp on small teardrop jigs or round ones about the size of a dime with an eye on them. Which hut are you in?

Was thinking of heading out Friday after work, if I do I'll stop by Saturday.

Be sure and stop by KP.  No smoke from the stove means I whimped out and stayed home with the -40 forecast for Friday night.
Still planning on it though.  I have plenty of firewood.
It is Alaska after all.
