Cove Mini-gathering Feb 4th

What:    A gathering of the IceShanty tribe for bass, braughts and beer. 

When:   Feb 4th.  Sun up to whenever.  Foul weather date Feb. 11th.

Where:  Bartons cove on the the Conn. River just off of Rt 2 Gill, Ma. at the Power company campground.

Stopped by the Cove last evening after work and every thing is locked up fine with five+ inches of ice and making more.  Heard tell of a couple of nice Walleye that were caught there yesterday and a 15+ Pound pike that came out at the beginning of the week.  You can expect to catch everything from Perch to Pike and all things in between.

I will bring a large propane grill out for communal use.  There is a large parking area that can accommodate 50 + vehicles.  It is an easy commute from anywhere as it is directly off of Rt. 2.

So let's here from folks that can make it!  I will amend this post with a running list as people chime in.  Hope to see you all there  :thumbsup:

capt when I map quest it should I put power co camp ground and I'll be there probably with bass and ice65

Just tried it Bartons cove seems to get you a map.  I think you can use Main road Gill to get a time estimate.

wish it were another weekend but o well

hhmmm, heading for superbowl party at 4:30. I could fish until 2:30 or so.
a little over an hour ride.

i'll see if i can get unoman

sound like you park down the campground road? or is the lot where you register for camp sites?

Easy ride from Leo.  I would think right around an hour.  Come early and it will give you plenty of ice time.  I always find the morning bite best on The River.  Look forward to meeting a fellow Beer aficionado.  Throw an arm lock on Unoman.

Captain how long of a drive from Raynham? I will plan my trip accordingly I have to work at 6pm. I really look forward to meeting new fishermen from the site.

I plan on being there as well. Drove by it a many times after fishing Mattawa or Tully and always said I'm gonna fish that place...usually hit that area in the spring via boat.

Good to hear Russell.  Fished a fair amount on Tully, Long Pond to, heck of a hike in to that thing.  My Best fishing bud worked at the campground for the state before TTOR took it over so I've hit it both hard and soft water on a number of occasions.  See you on the Fourth.

Captain I'll make some good chili but I will tone it down some. Because I like my chili so hot you will sweat just smelling it lol!!!   I make a killer 3 bean chili that will be tasty and mild for the event look forward to seeing everyone. :clap:

I've killed poeple with habs they are deadly :'( :'( :'( is the sauce made from habs only if it is OUCH. Im gonna bring hot dogs and buns for chilli dogs .sound like there will be plenty of food ;D

I stoped by the cove yesterday afternoon to chat with some friends and the action was steady.  Saw a real nice small mouth come through the hole while I was there.  Heard reports of several Walleye as well.
