Drilled and sat on one hole for a couple hours and caught fish consistently without having to move bounce around searching.  Plenty of ice on little lake although I did not measure.
Catch a man a fish and feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and feed him for a lifetime.

There was at least 18" of ice yesterday.  I could haul my mother in law's fat kiester in the back of my 3/4 ton jeep and not go through.  Not sure how I would get her up there.  Maybe roll her down a hill or throw a Little Debbie in the back....

I seldom drive on the ice.  I have a fleet of sleds I tow.  The auger is starting to get heavt, so maybe next year I'll rig my 4 wheeler for ice travel.
Sometimes nothin' is a real cool hand!

plenty of ice.....edge is what can be in question... you need to check that for your self.

at this point in the season conditions change hourly.

people are fishing and catching.

A few were driving out today, getting on was starting to soften a bit but still OK tonight. Spikes and minnow heads were about even for me. Bigger ones came on minnow pinched

Had a good day today.  Fishing was great right from the start! We used mudbugs and buckshot spoons. The ice was 15-18 with 3 to 4 inches of slop on top.

well?

I was on a bus and just happened to be sitting on a news paper. This guy came up and asked. "Are you reading that ?"
I said  yes, stood up, turned the page and sat back down.

Oldbear: I'm still in the North Central Iowa area...

Little lake on the west end was 3-4 inches(estimated) and silky smooth.  Even some kite skaters out there covering most the lake.  After a few more cold nights and the slight warmup it should be good to go for quads next week.  Houses in a week and a half i'm guessing.  Fishing was piss poor lotsa lookers no takers.

We fished Clear most of the day and managed a few small eaters. Found a few perch today also. It would be great to see them make a good come back.

The ice took a hit but it wasn't bad.  Should be great by Saturday or Sunday. Just a little heads up if your fishing over 8ft your fishing to deep.  At least that's what I have seen.
