I think that you are un American if you think a walleye tase better that a yellow. A perch may come close but a walleye does not compare. But like u said we all have our own tase buds.

roll them yellows in your favorite fish batter then dip that in egg and then roll them in potato flakes and fry them until the flakes are golden brown. let me know how you like them.

Has anybody been to Silver lake, elm lake, or rice lake lately.  Wanna try to find some perch fairly close to home.
Silver has all the baby perch you want right now. Nothing on rice.

I caught a 88 1/2 pound tiger fish in the middle of the little lake yesterday...       on wii fishing that is! Ive been out for the past few weeks the best thing to do is keep moving around to find the fish.

I've gone to Elm a couple of times with friends.  The first time we caught some nice perch and many small ones.  Second visit the fishing was slow except for someone's dog that was wanting to bite.  Stopped at Morse that day too and had no bites or fish on the flashers.  Access on Morse was poor, the road has not been plowed for a long time.

How is the ice since the rain, I have my permy out and haven't made it since Monday, is the lake still able to be driven on by truck. And about the fishing, those yellows are fun little buggers to catch even if it has been slow (I'm probably in the wrong spot anyways!) have caught quite a few cigars also but nothing worth keeping.  Haven't had much luck during the day, just before dark seems to be the golden hour! Thanks and tight lines!
Tight lines and happy hunting to all! Go Vikings!!

most people gave up. Its very hard to find the fish. Some days its 20 others only 2. before the "dredge" the island and farmers were the hot spots. Farmers isnt producing a whole lot, and as far as the island not a permie out there. I remember on average 20-30 permies there every year. Ive seen very few people trying it, it always worked in the past who says it wont this year?

Over the holidays we caught a few perch too on little lake. We didn't think there were any perch left in there. No size to it, but it was still good sign.... I wouldn't mind catching perch there
