Well, I've had my Fl-18 for 5yrs now and have just retired it, to my son! Picked up the new FL-22HD yesterday and just can't wait to get it out on the ice!

I have an 18 also and I just may end up getting an Fl-22HD soon. It looks like a nice unit and covers the depth ranges I fish.

I will be at Christmas! My wife asked what I wanted this year and Vexilar popped in my head. She asked an awful lot of questions and some where about HD

I think only the FL22 is HD! My goodness they are expensive. Guess I gotta find something REAL NICE for her

Regardless of the model, I'll real enjoy it I'm sure.. God I love that woman!

Thats why I bought mine Dk! I mostly fish shallow water and in the weeds! I also like the dual auto zoom, along with the nite mode!

To tell you the truth, I don't know how I fish without one! Its made such a difference in how I fish and how successful I'am. I like to tell everyone that its my eyes under the ice!!

I have used an 18 for several years, and the lines are a bit shaky sometimes it but still works pretty well. Considering I backed over it one night at Beltzville, I can't complain.

It's still getting the job done for me. Honestly, if I could afford an upgrade I would probably get a Marcum.

I have the FL8-se pro pack 2, I have loved the thing since i bought it 5 years ago, I also use it in the summer on my kayak. I made a special mount and added a long battery cable and everything. Gonna use it til it doesn't work anymore.

FL-8,10years,does very thing I need, shows me Gills and Crappies. I'm sure the new units are great .

I have a FL20 Ultra. Bought the head unit off of ebay for a song, then bought a battery and ultra pack. Head unit had both the 12 and 9/19 transducers with it. I use it almost exclusively. Also bought a 8se Genz off of Craigslist for $100 two seasons ago. My wife uses it.

FL-8 for 16 Years, Still works perfect. I would like to try other Brands but it just keep working. I might have to give it to my kids and by a new Vex FL-20

fl-8 genz pack left it at home once because it was on the charger wished i went back and got it worst day i had that whole season. now it always goes straight to the truck after it gets charged monday after a long weekend out on the ice

I have an FL-20 with the tri-beam ducer now. I've owned the 20 for a few years and just added the ducer this year. I've had Vexilars going back about 10 or 12 years. I did try an LX-5 last year. There were some things I liked about it and some things I didn't. The things I didn't like outweighed the things I did like. So, I'm sticking with Vex until they give me a reason not to.
