Does anyone know about the 2 launches on this lake? are they private? pay to launch? I see the one in the middle of the lake is at a marina. I called but they are closed, fish and game didn't know anything about either launch. Hoping to launch by the marina depending on info I get. Thanks,

I believe the launch on the Washington end is for residents only. I’m not sure if the marina end is a pay launch or not though.. good luck.

I'm excited to ice fish Highland this winter. My folks just bought a place on the south end last spring.
The Marina Restaurant is open Fri-Sun during the off season. Juicy Burgers. Not sure how they do parking in the snowy months.
There is also the ramp on the south end of the lake on RT 123. It snakes about a mile before you hit open water though. Its a poke if you arent riding a sled/wheeler.

Are there anywhere to buy shiners in the area?

Morse Sporting goods in Hillsborough

The access off the stoddsrd side at the marina is open for anyone, there isn’t much parking though so plan accordingly but it’s a pretty easy trek to some good waters holding whites and some real nice crappie! Just be careful cause there is always some thin ice down the middle

Good point on the thin ice. The lake is a dammed stream so there is quite a bit of current especially on the south end. Almost once a year someone not familiar with the lake goes through on a sled.

I've gone out on the marina end several times. Parking can be ambit of trouble if you don't get there early enough. Head out past the boat launch there and hook a right about a mile down isnsome good waters. Decent sized whites, yellows in there. Have yet to get on the crappie there but that would be a dream come true.

I could put you on some crappie!
