Fishing around Mud Cove Moosehead?
« on: Feb 11, 2019, 11:00 AM »
Hey everyone,

I'll be heading up to Moosehead in March and I'm hoping to do some ice fishing while I'm there. The camp I'm staying at is right in Mud Cove and I'm just wondering if anyone has fished in that area and had any luck. When I've been up there in the summer the water has seemed super shallow so I'm not sure if it is borderline un-fishable due to the likely thick amount of ice that is present. If that specific cove isn't really fishable is there anywhere walkable that I might have luck at? We won't have snowmobiles or four wheelers so we'll be hoofing it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you walking in from the dam or Raymonds store?

Neither - I think that's too far north? I'll be staying right around this area here.

That's pretty funny!  I never knew there was a Mud Cove on Moosehead at all but apparently there are two (at least) of them.  One over by Lily Bay and one up by Seboomook!
