I will keep the thread updated when it goes over.  Likely next weekend if the wind dies down.  PS the lake may not be freezing but we've been making snow for Naples and Raymond all week. ;)

Sitting at home in OOB listening to the wind howl upwards of 30-35 mph........lookin like its blowing good at 25-30 mph around Sebago. Cold temps w/ light fluffy snow, hopefully it gets swept one way or the other and we're looking at sub 0 temps the next 3 days and well below freezing after that. Should be locked up tight all the way around within a week (high winds notwithstanding) Im guessing if not sooner

Supposed to calm down wind wise tonight and into tomorrow, with sub single digit highs. I think our best bet is sometime Sunday. Can't wait.

Makes me wonder, how did this lake ever freeze over in the past??

Fishing the same way and expecting different results.

I haven't been fishing very long but never remember the big bay freezing until Feb.   It takes time  .

Yes it's still early. There's a lot of water to cool down.

Couple guys I know fished it today, had to navigate out and around to get on safe ice. Soft in spots, crusty in others but they had 6-7" and otherwise no issue........1 Togue on a handful of flags

They tried getting on near F.I. but were circumnavigated around the corner, not exactly sure where. I think he said there was a lil snow and def. some slushy/softer spots, crusty on top & wet underneath. I was pretty surprised they couldn't get on there to be honest, especially with the cold weather we've bern having......plenty of ice though so that's a good sign

We have ice on the Big Bay - not saying it will stay frozen but it is there.

This season has been screwy for sure. Hoping for one nice, long sustained cold spell without much wind to turn that skim into good ice. Could be in for a really good February and March but right now Id settle for late January

At the Standish station they were out all over the place on Sunday. be careful of old holes opening up with the warm days, lots of traffic out there.
