Bull Gill
« on: Jan 23, 2013, 10:38 AM »
Caught this fatty last week (10.3/4"), just haven't had time to logon and share. Ice around the Macomb area should be safe now, obviously using caution on larger lakes like Argyle etc.. Couped up all week with class so hoping to get out on Friday again!

Just got it before safe ice arrived (100$ shipped on Ebay, was a store model). I personally like to be very mobile on the ice and constantly on the move, I owned a frabill one man commando prior to this, however the commando would not fit in a car. I have used this about 3-4 times and it is a monster as far as size goes, I can stand up in the middle (6'4"), and we could easily fish 3 full size men. Downfalls come when wind arrives. Not much fun to set up in the wind, let alone by yourself. Ice anchors are a necessity and are needed on the outside to keep the walls from caving in with the wind. But when going with others it is a great way to keep everyone nice and warm. For 100$ I can't complain.
