Dangerous Ice
« on: Feb 04, 2012, 08:44 AM »
I just got a call from a buddy of mine. He was asking if I was at home because he was listening to the news and heard that rescue crews were setting up at Pistakee, in search of a lost fisherman.

My hope is that all turns out well for our fellow angler, but no one should be on these lakes right now. Please use common sense and stay off dangerous ice, no fish is worth your life!

that is sad news but it does not surprise me pistake was getting bad a week ago Friday when we left plus with the amount of holes that have been drilled out there the ice was getting water logged and soft I hope everyone stays off of pistake it will need more than a few cold nights and days to get solid again if you need to fish go north to WI or find small ponds that have had less travel on them where the ice could be safer JUST USE CAUTION AND PLEASE BE SAFE ALL

Many are reeling from the loss of Justin in this area. He was an accomplished angler and very knowledgeable about ice fishing. His funeral is to be held Thursday. RIP. Tight lines!
