what works best for dirty water blue gills ?
-
Dark colors,black,purple

I've found dark colors work well too.
Every now and then though I have killed them while fishing a bright jig head (Glow, Chartreuse, etc.) with a dark plastic. A CJS shrimpo with a chartreuse head and black body has been killer in water 10 foot and shallower.

X2

Usually darker and slightly larger. Glow combos are not a bad option, glow red head and a more regular glow body. Think sometimes one glow penetrates better than the other.

Arnolds fairy jig, has blades that flutter, adds vibration. Used them on the Mississippi backwaters when the water was murky, tipped with waxes.

wax worm pink jig and patience

Silver or gold jig!
