Forgive me for my ignorance and maybe asking some stupid questions.... And for the record, I consider ice fishing a peaceful sport and I do not consider ice fishing a crime!

I have read the previous post on this thread multiple times and even attempted to read between the lines.....

Can you give me the situation with the body(ies) of water in question where attempts are being made to restrict access?  Do these areas have "public" access points or is the entire body of water privately owned?

When these residents on the waters call the police, what is their complaint?  Parking in an illegal parking zone, trespassing?  Something else?

Thanks for you patience with me.....

Have an awesome day!

there are a few  stupid people out there that ruin it for everyone. both property owners and fisherman.   2 years ago i come home from work, let the dog out and walk inside, a minute later hear someone yelling about tying up the dog, and find that someone sitting in my chair on my lake side patio with a pile of empties fishing, complaining about my dog ??? this year my trolling motor and battery was stolen off the boat, and my neighbors boat was "borrowed". i did call the police once, a non english speaking guy was in a stolen boat drinking orange juice and vodka and plinking his bbgun towards the houses. now im not going to let the home owner off either, lots of big mouths out there that just have to have their say.  my camp in sebago 2 years ago found a few spent rounds a foot off the house, someone was shooting ducks from right next to the house shooting up river.

Seems like access to ponds for fishing and land for hunting is getting more restricted all the time.  I don't like it but I also see the mess that some so called sportsmen leave behind after one of their outings.  Each year I know that many of us take the time to clean up after the thoughtlessness of others.  So let's do our part to demonstrate our commitment to preserevation and respectful use of our resources.  There may not be much else that we can do once property owners are angered.
