New Fishing Snowmobile
« on: Mar 01, 2012, 04:20 PM »
Just picked up my new expedition 550 sport from the dealer today, few minor mods will need to be done, and it will be a real ice fishing sled.  Any other expedition users out there? This is also my first time trying to post a picture, so I hope it works.

The ski-doo site has it listed for 515 lbs dry weight, but I haven't had a chance to see what she weighs all fueled up yet.

A good friend of mine has one, and they are awesome machines. Congrats! You'll have many years of reliable service out of that right there.

Tightwad, no they do not make that sled anymore, im not sure when they quit making them. I feel they are really missing the boat with not making these smaller sleds, for kids, icefisherman, and starter riders. These were nice light nimble sleds.  Skidooguy, thanks, I hope it lasts me a long time, cant wait to put it to the test this weekend!

Nice looking sled. Does it have an aux pull start and reverse? Definitely has a much better instrument cluster than my Polaris, but otherwise it seems pretty comparable. Mind if I ask how much it cost.

Steve- Yes it does have pull start and reverse, out the door with a gallon of oil, spare belt, spare plugs, and cover it was just over 8000, not a steal, but not too bad of a deal either.

I have a 2008 Expedition Sport 800. I love this sled!! I highly recommend putting studs on the track...i put woody's on my machine and it will go anywhere. I pull 2 shanty's and 2 fisherman out with no problem and have been in about 15" of snow and slush at times. You will be happy!!!

I have the Expedition Sport Ace and I love it!  Super comfortable, lots of room, and goes almost anywhere.  I have made a few modifications to my machine, including making the 2-up seat easily removable, a custom rack, auger carrier, rod box and pop-up shack carrier.  I have a thread over on dooTalk about this machine and the mods I have done, and I will be updating it soon.  As soon as I get pictures of the latest version of my modifications, I will post pictures here as well.  You are going to really enjoy that snowmobile!

I only have unloaded photos online at this time, I will try to post some "loaded up and ready to go" pictures this weekend.
