I would have always said...if I get a nice Pike it would come on the ice. My friend who has never caught a Pike on a rod and reel pretty much was the driving force to get me out there a half dozen times and believe it or not he got his 8.9 lb. 20 minutes before the beast locked on for the best battle I've ever had on a stick...we were as surprised as anyone to be in the boat in Massachusetts with this big of a Pike...made my summer !

awesome job, what did you get her on? i remember my first pike, when you get a big one you can't look at a big bass in your boat in the same way. they're huge. bet it was an awesome fight.

Thanks mealworm...she's still swimming out there for another angler to expierence the thrill that she gave me that day.
Caught in the open water at that weight I thought she was worthy of a replica mount so I'm saving to have that done.
Can't wait to have my first fish on the wall !

very cool!! i'm all about C&R and in my opinion a replica is better anyway the never fade or dry out and i think they come out looking just as good or better than skin mount and like you said you can take as much time as you need to save $$ to have the replica done,again nice job!!

Thanks again guys....been thinking alot about a nice sheet of ice under my toes but a couple months after Piking it.....
I got my second chance to hit the Salmon River in NY for some Salmon and Steelhead Trout which didn't dissapoint ! Great Steely action and Salmon for 2 days strait ! One of the best open water seasons in the last 4 years doesn't want to end but ice is dominating my thoughts...see you on the Hardwater sooooooon !

I spent the majority of my fall fishing couple hundred yards up and downstream of your Steelhead and Salmon pics. This fall was a blast, great fishing and lots of fun. I hope to make some more memories like those on the ice this year.

I spent the majority of my fall fishing couple hundred yards up and downstream of your Steelhead and Salmon pics. This fall was a blast, great fishing and lots of fun. I hope to make some more memories like those on the ice this year.
That was my second year going out to SR and I'm hooked and love it...it's a different kind of fishing that I'm used to and I love the challenge of landing a big fish with tough conditions...agree "Good Times"
