No ice on Lake George yet.Any skim of ice would have been knocked out by the high winds.

If you aren't seeing teens and singles at night with no wind you won't be seeing ice on the South end of George anytime soon. If you want ice on the North End pray for -0's and no wind for 3 days straight.

Was a county wide rescue attempt, with Bolton's hover craft, as well as North Queensbury and Horicon. Very large rescue mission with a lot of lives put in danger to save people. Good thing is they all got out safe as I read it in the paper this morning.

People have to be smart about the ice. Everyone likes to be on early ice and get those early fish. Just be safe and smart, none of them are worth dying for.

That is insane to think someone took a sled out on the lake today ::)

I drove mine to the top of prospect today and could see ice way up past dome and the narrows as well.  Could not tell if they area off Tongue mountain point was capped or not as I couldn't see any snow.

For those guys perching million dolar beach they didn't look like any of them were camped over the productive spots :o A few more cold nights and I will be out to get my share ;D

I'm sure the snowmobiles weren't fishermen, it happens a lot on L.G. as soon as ice forms & people see us ice fishing the snowmobilers think its safe to run those 600lb. sleds. They think they can go anywhere, it would be hard monitor, maybe there should be a snowmobile site so they can post conditions. I don't know if anyone was seriously hurt or worse but its a sad thing to happen.

Perch so far are very finicky.  I had good results Sat. fishing instinctively.  You really can't even put it into words, it's just a lot of trial and error and feel.  You don't even feel or see the bites most of the time, but when you give the rod a lift, more times than not, someone's home.  I do, however, like a challenging bite.  The way I look at it, anybody can catch them when there's a hot bite.
