Won't be long now Bird.  We'll have plenty of fresh venison jerky after today.  We threw 3 in the freezer today on the last day of muzzleloader.

It's nice to see The King making ice already. We'll be out there before you know it ! Meanwhile, I'll continue to hone my perch slaying skills on lakes like Mayfield and other small lakes. I was out Sundays catching perch. 1St time I've been on the ice while deer season is still going on. A little odd, but with 5 deer in the freezer I figured I have to  leave a little room in the freezer for the fillets !  ;D

Legally with the tags I hold can get 6 and thats without transfers.
1. Last years bow tag
2. This years bow tag
3. Muzzle
4. 1st doe
5. 2nd doe
6. Buck
If you get transfers or qualify for nuisance thats additional tags

I might hit it this year for perch, but I won't be near any of the mobs. I'll be one of those guys in the middle of nowhere you look at at say "look at that idiot, there's no fish there" 8).

I'm wondering why everyone is talking about 5-6" perch. I fish it and regularly get 10" if not bigger.

In Georgia you can shoot 10 does and 2 antlered on your regular license. Deer shot on management hunts don't count against your tags. The seasons, bow et al run from 3rd week in September 2nd week in January. In Alabama you can shoot one buck a day over a 4 month season. NY needs to get with it. My mom has up to 25 deer laying in  her yard at a atime chewing cud and begging you to feed them.
