Since I know a couple of the Wardens in the area I just had to hear it with my own ears & I was 95% sure of what they would say...Admittedly, there was that 5% that was unsure just because of the F**k*d up world we live in nowadays...

It's a thing. When walleye are on the feed in the shallows, it's very practical to catch them on streamers. That's what I enjoy about fly fishing at Peck, never know if the next cast will be a pike, walleye, or smallmouth.

Pretty sure he's right. I think this change was made during the last legislative session. I think a warden can still check a guide and their clients for fish and game violations, but can't check the outfitter/guide for their guiding license.

I've been checked on multiple rivers, including the blackfoot last summer.  They checked for guide license and which outfitter I was working for, proof of insurance, fishing license and state commercial use permit, and that clients had valid licenses to fish.  Unless this has changed the last few months I think it's another urban legend.
