I pulled my first few fish through the ice this past weekend. I was just at a little private pond south of Darby. My wife's family has a little pond on their land that has some pretty good shade. To my amazement there was already 5 inches of ice on her. So what else could I do but put a couple of lines in! The only bait we had in the house was some marshmallows, but they worked beautifully. I pulled a dozen cutthroat out in about 2 hours with the biggest being about 12 inches. It felt great to be on the hardwater again! I hope to try Georgetown lake out this weekend. I haven't officially heard that it has enough ice yet, but its been cold and only colder the rest of the week, so I'm certain there will be enough ice. I'll post a report after the trip.
