I will be out, unless there is severe amounts of rain most ponds that had good amounts will still be good. Some of the edges might be a little sketchy.

looked at the forcast on weather.com.

With the windchill it will still be below freezing.

Friday High of 37 degrees with 16mph winds = approx. 25 degrees

Saturday High of 42 degrees with 21mph winds = approx. 30 degrees

Plus it will be below freezing every night.  I think it should be okay.

I agree I think it should be fine, but the wind chill doesn't benefit the ice at all

The wind chill actually works in reverse when it's ice and above-freezing temperatures.  The wind blows the air around, making the ice warm more air instead of having a little buffer of cooler air right up against it.  As long as there's a good 6 inches, and the high and low temps average around freezing they should be all set, though...

Be careful with temperatures. Wind chill does not help with ice, it's what the temperature without wind chill is I believe. So If over 32 degrees you'll be loosing it. I'd be more afraid of rain wrecking the ice than temperatures.

Really?  The wind chill doesn't have a positive affect on ice?  I would think that it would still help.

Wind in no way shape or form has ever helped or will ever help the ice.  Period thats it....

Not if it's open water, or of it's above freezing.  The wind below freezing will make a slight difference, but not really too much.  If it's open water, then the ice crystals get stirred back into the water and remelt.  If there's already ice, then it will keep the ice colder and help more water under it freeze, but it won't make much of a difference.

It'd be like putting ice cream in front of a fan when it was 34 degrees, it'll melt faster.  Or like a breeze in the dessert when it's warmer than your body temperature.

I can't take credit for it, I think I got it from Mr. Wizard years ago...

where are you fishing this weekend?  any trucks on the Bog?

They were out there wednesday during and after the rain but that was the last time i went by there and aslong as you can get past the edge you schould be fine,  i went by south pond yesterday instead and talked to a guy and he said 8 inches there.  So no ice was lost it would just be the edge and how much rain or what ever we get this afternoon, but i bet people will be drivin out there.

Sunday will probably be the better day, far less wind and below freezing overnight on Sat
My wife tells me if I keep going hunting & fishing so much she's going to leave me.  I'm sure gonna miss her.
