had the day off so i decided to do a quick shake down of the gear, auger, showdown etc. so i headed up the hill to the club. 7" of black ice with a dusting of snow. setup before the sun was up over the trees.
had quite a few flags from 8 to 11 then it kind of trailed off around 12:30. picked up at 2. the magic time of 10:30 i had 3 flags up at once. caught a few small bass, largest maybe 1.8 lb. a nice 13oz perch and some crappie. all the fish were dark as the water is quite brackish.
overall a good day to start the season, plus it's been a while having safe ice before xmas..woo hoo :icefish:

the club ice fishing derby is scheduled for Jan 29th, for anyone who wants to show. a few did last year, fun time for sure
rain tomorrow am, drilled some holes near shore so i can watch from the truck 'til about noon...then....GO PATS!! :clap:
