Had a couple medical tests done in Glens Fall today, when I got back to Schroon at sunset I drove past the park on the lake and the flags were motionless, good sign. Temps near 0* tonight.

I haven't been to town but a friend told me looks like entire north basin skimmed over, maybe more, got to check for myself.  Will be going past Eagle Lake this morning, will report on that this afternoon.  -8 below this morning and calm.

Schroon frozen from Word of Life Inn north, open sections below that.  Narrows south open.  West side of Paradox open, couldn't see much of east side, but what I saw was frozen.  Big side of Eagle open except protected bays, small side frozen, in fact a guy was fishing along the road 30 yds offshore.

Except for yesterday (Tuesday), it has been cold. Areas south of the boat launch that were open are now frozen.  Very uneven freezing this year, so far.  Best ice would be off Fowler down to the beach.  Scattered reports of a guy or 2 fishing off Fowler, not far out though.  My best guess 3-4".  Would not be surprised if I heard there was a little more,  but south of the launch should be off limits till after next weeks brutal cold.  Narrows south still open.

Did a little bit of Christmas fishing off Fowler Road only measured about 4 1/2 inches of ice about six or 7 inches of snow on top really have to be careful where you walk was able to get out for about an hour and 35 feet of water landed 1 Decent lake trout a lot of all the water still by the Narrows should be good to go after this weeks cold front

Several groups of guys out off the launch last couple days.  South end froze over today, except a section in the middle between Adirondack and Scaroon Manor.

can anyone comment on dragging conditions. I was at there Tuesday and there was enough slush to make dragging miserable.

Off the boat launch the snow blew off, easy dragging,  not much snow on ice.  6-7 inches of ice as of yesterday.

There’s a huge snow pile in front of the boat launch there behind Stewart’s, would make access a lot easier for machines if that wasn’t there.   Does the town usually plow the launch in like that?

If I can remember correctly, I don't think so.  Most guys get on to the right or left of the launch.  I have coffee each morning at Stewarts with the Town supervisor, I'll mention it to him.

Much appreciated!!!   A few years back drove my buddies car out there and did pretty good on lakers at word of life island...When i was a kid i seem to remember us getting on where the word of life island docks are now, i think there was camps back there then, but there was always a big ice heave near shore there.   My dad ripped his running boards off his brand new truck getting off the ice on superbowl sunday when i was real young lol we still laugh about the day he got air in his old dodge ram  ;D ;D

Walked off the town boat launch and fished south of Clarks Island. Easy drag, no slush, and I measured 11 inches of ice in the few holes I cut. Got four through the hole and had maybe ten look at it, jigging no tip ups. Two were around 16in one 20 and one 25. Fished from 10-2:30.

Any snow on the north end? Saw you posted no slush. Just wondering if any snow is still on or if most blew off
