Sebago lake... Pic update.
« on: Mar 05, 2021, 08:04 PM »
Headed over there tomorrow to fish. Never been before but have always wanted to. Has anyone made a trip over recently and have any info or tips. We are probably getting on at a beach north west of sebago station. Drops out to 120 fow pretty quickly. My plan is to pound bottom with a bucktail and some sucker meat. Will I find them all over the water column there or mainly on bottom?

I'll be jigging mostly bucktails. I do have smaller stuff, tubes and paddletails. I'll also bring some spoons. I'm bringing the whole arsenal...... I have some traps but I don't think they have enough line on them to fish very deep. Thanks for the info!

So we got a little bit of a late start. Getting the kids ready finding bait and an hour drive then trying to find the parking area.... Hit the ice by 830. Walked out about a mile to 158 fow we drilled a bunch of holes and set up. My buddy jigged up a nice one real quick on one of my jigs. We thought it was going to be a great day but it was the highlight of the day. We had a couple flags pop but nothing. We marked fish and had some bumps here and there but nothing else. In the last hour we got a flag and got one more respectable fish maybe 20 in. Which I kept to finally try out.

How was that pressure ridge near the island?  I had to walk an extra 1/2 mile around it last Thursday afternoon as it opened up after the morning.

It was ok for foot traffic in most areas.....There was a board at one spot to get across though too I might make another trip over there this week hopefully.

Nice work.  150 fow is too deep in my humble opinion, but it looms like you caught.  I'm fishing 35 to 50 for the big girls in champ.

I agree but everyone I talked to and by the looks of all the people we saw set up out in even deeper waters we set up outside of my normal laker water depth.

Good job getting out. That's serious water out there. Never fished that deep before. Sounds like a fun trip.
