early trout
« on: Oct 27, 2020, 07:19 PM »
Anyone been out to the stocked trout lakes yet? How's the ice? Would be nice to know where you went, don't have to say if you caught any. Just trying to make some plans.

i've heard of a few guys out on trout lakes.  around here it had just froze, then we got 3-4" of snow and now it's been above zero for a few days.  i was planning on getting out this weekend but going to hold off until the following weekend now.

I imagine all this heavy snow messed the ice up but there was safe ice north of meadow from what I heard this week.

If you are in my part of Ontario you are looking at a few weeks plus before the idea even becomes a thought.  No ice and taking the boat out tomorrow.
May your tip-up spool while your flag raises with hopes of landing the big one.

I had a hunch. Didn't you move up north? Back to ML now?

I'm planning on going up to some trout lakes on Friday. Next week looks cold, so should be good!
Tight lines and strong ice
