Did pretty good on Chaumont. Fished til about noon on Monday and caught a lot perch with some nice ones for the table. I threw back a lot of dinks. Seemed like I would catch a few nice ones at a time.

Chaumont is one of those places on my bucket list. Just have to make the commitment and get up there

Up here on Chaumont too…been pounding on em for a couple days. Some nice ones in the schools once you pick through them. I personally like the packs of 3s an 4s. They seem to be the biggest ones through.

Thanks guys. It was a blast. Hoping to get up there again March 10 if the ice is still there. If not I’m hoping some of the st Lawrence bays have some decent ice. Nice haul hardwater! Looks like you’re pounding them up there

Thanks Fred!! You’ll be in great shape if ya make it up. Had my Tundra out there since Friday. Measured 7” pretty consistently out to deep water off the state park. Bite has been good.
I’m here for a few more days. Maybe I’ll run into ya. Good luck and enjoy.

Sorry folks no pics today. Fished from daylight till noon with narry a keeper. This is the second time this has happened this season following a good dump of snow. Has anyone else experienced this? I've still got good ice, so I'll give another go in a few days.

I’m blaming the fresh snow. I rarely do good after a fresh heavy snow fall. Makes things pritty dark down there. I did manage 9 keeper perch that was over the course of 5 hours of fishing. Oh well, just enough for fish taco dinner for the wife kid and me. Was beautiful day to be out too. Had 8-10” of good black ice under that snow gonna give it a try again this weekend. Maybe try a couple new spots

That was my thought Iceman. I guess after a fish has been used to looking up at sunlight, shadows, etc it may throw a spook into them to be suddenly in the dark? Going to be breezy for a couple days so I'll let it be until maybe Friday. Cool temps at night and a few clouds around so not much damage being done to the ice.

Pritty sweet hardwater! Back up to chaumount already!?!? I’m jonesin to get back up there before walleye ends. I’m gonna try to do an all dayer this weekend if I can. Not sure if the old lady’s gonna let that one fly though lol

Yeah, just couldn’t resist. My buddy lives up here on the bay. Ice is still pretty decent and so is the bite. Little slushy but not too bad. Looks like warmer temps coming next week.
