Getting ready
« on: Oct 15, 2007, 09:36 PM »
Today I hosed the dust off the Jet Sled, fired up the auger...(I love the smell of auger smoke in the afternoon), and checked over my ice gear.  Yeah, yeah, I know the flowers are still blooming, but we had frost on the grass this morning, and the trees don't have many leaves left, so the ice can't be too far away.

I don't know bout tinkering but I loaded up my fish trap the other day to move it to my new house and it is still in the back of my truck in case the water stiffens up over night tonight.  hahahah

Nothing wrong with that. I've started getting stuff ready for almost a month now. I picked up an Ice Cube 4 man on ebay, bought a new flasher today on my lunch break, lined up a new (used) 10" power auger off a friend and now I just need a Mr. Heater and a sled and I'm all set with new gear for the season! Up untill this season I had very minimal gear for the hard water.

With all this new stuff, I'm gurarateed a great season, right?  :o

Absolutely!  If nothing else, you'll be fishing in style. And if you get a Mr. Heater, you'll be fishing in a T-shirt with the heat those things generate.  My son just got a new Ice Cube when United Army closed down, can't wait to try it out.

Ducks, deer, and maybe... god willing, a moose... then bring it on!
