Im still hoping  now that my baby is born i no longer need to be within an hour of home . If i can make it will a quad be usable or is it too slushy?  anyways sounds like fun hopefully I will be able to make it

I will also be checking the ice near the end of the week for its current conditions!
As of now, a quad will be no problem... JUST MAKE SURE YOU ARE ALL LEGAL AND ARE WEARING A HELMET...
they do ticket for that!

Im going to make a call and see if i can get real close access for machines... I will update on that issue.
But there is other access like Tigger mentioned as well!

From what I saw Saturday I would say this weekend will be no problem for quads.  With the small amounts of snow and white ice, even if it warmed I can't see any more than an inch or two of slush on top.  Where I fished I had 11 inches (measured) of very clear black ice.  I don't see that going anywhere real fast either.

Still a long way of, but they are saying 36 with a chance of snow showers.  Sounds a lot like it was today.

At this point does the weather really matter?  If you are worried, throw a rain suit in with all the other crap you are going to bring. ;)  Now, let’s get ready to have some fun. :woot:

If I don't get to a fishing destination at least a half hour before daylight I don't feel like I'm going fishing.

Can't make the show but, I did MEASURE 15" of ice, 13" clear off Greyshores in 20 ft of water. Ice should be no problem infact a guy on a suped up quad rolled from the south past me flying up to the northend and two sleds went by also today. The bad ice and open water are about 3/4 of the way down the lake, stay to the north or very southend and away from the middle. Good luck to everyone!

Looks like I just might be the last one there.  My honey is going with me and she won't be ready to leave here until 6:30 or 7:00.  That doesn't put me on the ice until 7:30 at the earliest.  Gotta love her.   :-*  I'll give a holler out on the radio when we get there.

BUCKSKI.... Good luck to you my friend, have fun!... but we wish you were here!

Ok... I would like to let everyone know that you do not have to chase around for bait in the morning before you get there... bait will be there for you at discounted prices!

Here is the list, amount being brought and prices....

Pike Shiners.... 3lbs..... $8.00/dz
Bass Shiners... 4lbs..... $5.00/dz
Fatheads........ 5lbs..... $1.00/dz (more like 14 or 15 though)
Sm. Niagaras... 3lbs..... $1.00/dz (same as mentioned above)
Lg. Niagaras.... 2lbs..... $2.00/dz ( ""  ""  "" "" "" "" "" "" "" "" "")
Rosie reds....... 1lb...... $2.00/dz
Frozen smelt.... $4.00/dz
Spikes............ 100/$1.50 or 500/$6.00
Waxies........... 50/$3.00 or 250/$10.00
Oakleaf Grubs... $2.00/dz

Now, those are the basics that he is going to bring with him, but....
If there is a special request for other baits, a larger amount of something or even...
Auger blades, certain jigs, line or something like that... Please contact me by email or PM
And I will get the request to the baitmobile for you!

It really beats having to chase bait around before fishing, and all the prices are ver fair for being brought to you!

Also... he will be there before 7:00am so that people can get started fishing early if they wish!

I bought my bait this morning.  Might have to buy a few more shiners though, just to show some appreciation.  You got to love bait at the edge of the ice, beats the heck out of driving 20 miles out of your way!!!

The bait being brought to us is definitely a nice feature to have!
He is a good friend of mine and helps me out with this... but he does it all over here locally!
Thats what enables him to keep his pricing lower than most...  ;D

I can actually answer part of that for you, I owned a bait shop.

Pike mentioned with 3 lbs. 1lb = about 2-3 dozen minnows. With that said and his 3 lbs coming that is about 6-9 dozen pike minnows.

1 lb of faheads usually meant when I got them about 6-8 dozen minnows.

There will be plenty of bait available... but it is first come first serve.
So get there early and there will be no problem!
But if you look at all I listed... thats alot of bait for sure! ;D

Good work oak!  That's always my biggest problem is getting bait since I usually can't get it the day before and no one is open early enough in the morning.  I'm definitely a buyer Saturday!
