I will be holding another ice fishing contest at Cuba lake this year; It will be held on the weekend before walleye season closes which will be Saturday the 11th of march.
$10.00 entry fee / 4 pay outs[ 25% going to each category w/ a $25.00 bonus to the one who gets the biggest walleye] Categories are
1] longest perch
2] longest pike
3] longest crappie
4] longest walleye
In case of a tie , weight will be the deciding factor or money split in that one cat.
Sign up the day of, between 6:00 am and 10:00 am. at the d!<e parking lot or on the ice just over the d!<e { south shore rd.} fish till 3:30 for final measure up.
We will be using ch 7 on the radio for the contest [ please! if you have children using radios , have them on an alternate channel.]
Same deal as last year , Keep it fair /if you gotta cheat to win go else where!!!
after you sign up you can go to any where on the lake you want, all N.Y. State regs apply.
We had a good turn out last year, it all went well and I would like to say to everyone that came THANK YOU for making it a good time and keeping the place clean when we left !!! NOW Lets do'er again!!!

Bring what you would take for a day of fishing anywhere , you might want tip-ups ,minnows ,ect.
There is real big pike in this lake but they are getting harder to catch[ thinned out]

I just hope we have all the categories filled this year , last year was perfect . Three perch all around 13'' were brought in one real nice crappie [I think around 14''] and 2 pike one close to 30'' and 1 eye about 18''. I know that three of those can be beat.
Lets see you guys do it!

I do need someone with a camera that can post the pics afterwards to hang around , any volunteers.

lol yea i always do well there i fish that lake alot got a place like 10 mins from it in the spring do real well on the eyes and during the ice do well also ill be out there all weekend this weekend and till the contest ill find the good holes caught like a 26 in northern 2 weeks ago 10 in eye threw the ice also tons of perch and crappie

Yeah me too, good time last year. Looking for a 13lb pike, last year it was the slowest pike day i have ever had on the lake.
Any donations for prizes?

Donations are great, Last year Youngster donated a hand auger and we gave it to a 15 year old angler that got one of the winning perch[ we had a tie] and his first pike through the ice.
That kind of stuff is what its all about.
