Sporty what was on the first flag???  The first picture had no snow on the ice around the hole, picture with the pike had snow at the hole.  Great job landing that brute, don't forget to celebrate the catch ;D ;D ;D!!!

Is the Sodus Bay event website the same as the Pro-Am site?  I can't find a Sodus Bay event website and I don't see it on the Pro-Am site yet.  Hoping to see the standings before tomorrow. Thanks

Wow... Just checked out the sodas day 1 results. Looks like a fantastic day for most. A 15 lb pike? Congrats to those who caught some if those good fish I saw on the leaderboards. Looks like gaff linkage is sitting well for the triple crown... Or will team brother dads have something to say about that? Good luck tomorrow everyone

Ya a 15 ld pike was brought to the south area weigh station , but they had to disqualifie the guy cause he brought it by way of land.

Bummer, you are suppose to bring all fish to station on ice.
That was to control cheatin

I was out by grassy point and that's what the judges at the south end said.

So I think that a 10 pounder is leading right now

Bringing all fish in by ice during an "open event" is a dumb rule.  Sodus is a huge place and 90% of the time,  long travel is next to impossible without a machine and even next to impossible with a machine.  This is a low money payout not some huge payout tourney.   I can see the rule for the "pro" but leave the open truly open!

I agree but I also walked my fish in to the north side weigh in from first creek access because it was the rule!

I disagree with you Gambell, because this is not a low stakes normal tournament. I mean the cash payouts may be low because of the lack of anglers, but if you look at the prize packages in the open division, you are talking packages worth 300-700dollars or so. People could easily cheat if they could transport fish by other means than just the lake itself. People could easily get a fish from other waterways and weigh it in to win these great prizes.

Nice job by the officials giving the triple crown win to the second place team.  How can you mess up simple math like that? Would anyone have caught it if the real winning team didn't speak up?

First off I'd like to thank Tim and crew for another world class tournament. The time , money, and stress that you all put into the series is amazing. If us fishermen and women knew what all goes into a series like this , I'm sure people would cut some slack. Mistakes happen. Thank you all again . world class !!!
Look at me I can walk on water

We would like to make a formal apology to both Team Brotherdads and Team Gaff Lunkage for a simple mathematical error that resulted in initially presenting the Triple Crown to the wrong team. With an event of this magnitude coupled with lack of sleep all weekend, mistakes can happen. We will work to create a new program that will prevent these from occurring in the future. We congratulate Team Gaff Lunkage on a well deserved win as well as Team Brotherdads for a very respectable 2nd place finish!
