still fishin up the hill
« on: Mar 26, 2019, 03:49 PM »
went up the hill to the club today. a few days ago, 14 inches of solid ice. today it was down to 10 inches. 6 hard then 4 corn, auger blew right thru it. buy 2 pm it was all soft drilling holes for tomorrow..packing light..ha ha.
22 degrees with a steady north wind in the am, a bit chilly. set up in 4 to 6 FOW, small shiners, 4 lbs leader. slow day, 4 flags in about 6 hours. a dink 1.12 bass and another blob perch. almost 12" just under a lb.

dink bass

blob perch

we'll see how the ice holds tomorrow.  time to get the MGB running or start the yard work..yuk!

That is a fatty perch! One perk of the this time of year is how easy it is to drill thro or open up old holes. Yard work isn't going anywhere but the ice sure is!!!

Nice Jim. Ice is going to go quick around our parts the next couple days. Been a great season. I put my most ever Pike on the ice for a season. To many to count.
Hard water Tight lines Flags up. Doesn't get any better than that

Don't call people cowards because they don't feel safe on thinning ice. Fish on if you want but don't need the name calling.
