NH White Perch 2009
« on: Jan 29, 2009, 10:21 AM »
These fish were caught in NH in a total of 2 hours by two of us.  Caught on Live Smelt.  Fish ranged from 1.5-2.5 Lbs each.  4 hours of filleting!!

that is a heck of a lot of fish, and 4 hours of filleting, that is a lot of cutting

great job
If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles

RIGHT ON! i love those things they are way better eating than the yellow ones n my opinion. I get tones of them during the spring run but nver seem to get into them in the winter...just curious how much water were you fishing in?  were they suspended or near bottom?

Wow, I live in Wisconsin and everybody says those white perch aren't good to eat so I always throw them back. I've caught some big jumbos through the years. Most people feed them to the seagulls on Green Bay. I might have to try them . Whats the best way to clean and cook them?
Last time I saw a mouth like that it had a hook in it!

Fillet just like a yellow perch or any other fish, skin the fillets, soak in milk for half hour, batter then deep fry mmm mm goood!
